We are based in Bradford, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom.

Bradford is famous for its Muslim population. Though there are areas in Britain which have higher concentrations of Muslims such as Blackburn and Newham, Bradford is well-known for its campaigning through the nineteen eighties and the two riots. Bradford Muslims are perhaps etched in the popular imagination as anti-citizens. But this does not correspond well with Bradford and its dynamic young Muslim population of 2007.

With Muslims numbering almost one in five for the city of Bradford, it is clear that Bradford along with many other European cities will face the challenges of integrating an unfamiliar force.

But we see things differently. We say that we are from Bradford, its earth and its history. We belong here and know nowhere else. It is our future and we are it's. We admire its buildings, its surrounding countryside, its energy, and the rugged honesty and fairness of its people. We do not hate Bradford, because we do not hate ourselves.

Our Islam is also a part of Bradford. We have been to school here, been to university here and work here. And we have chosen to live in a way that has not proved difficult nor cumbersome, though, of course, this provokes many challenges for others.

We are religious because we see a purpose to it all. A purpose that reaches beyond the daily grind towards the heavens. It is through escaping by our religious imaginations from the heaviness of the material that we reach through the gate of clemency to the Lightness of the Eternal. This is Clement's Gate. An organisation formed to provide succour to those who seek beyond the temporary and the petty towards the vast and the Majestic.
